IBLC’s Chair

Robert A. Solomon (2010-13) My goals as the IBLC's chairperson are to expand the organisation into jurisdictions that are emerging as new engines of the world economy, and to see our members work more closely together in providing smart, effective services to our existing and new clients.

The IBLC Chairperson, appointed by CILS on the recommendation of the Council, presides at Council meetings and the IBLC’s annual general meeting and provides ceremonial representation, leadership, and general marketing and management coordination for the IBLC.

IBLC’s Council

Carlos H. Alayza (2012-14, )

Caroline Berube (2009-13, Membership) My experience with IBLC members has been phenomenal, allowing me to meet very knowledgeable, dedicated and very friendly lawyers and to exchange ideas on various legal issues we all face as lawyers with an international practice. My goal as an Advisory Council member remains that each member understands the other members’ practices and expertise in their respective jurisdictions in order to capitalise on our worldwide legal knowledge and to refer business to each other with the objective of keeping our clients’ happy. By meeting regularly, organising joint seminars, publications and brochures and by having small groups discuss our respective practical cases, we are getting close to meeting my objectives for the Council.

Michael Alan Dailey (2012-14, Dispute Resolution) The IBLC represents for me an important entrée to international business and disputes, a network of high quality practitioners diligently engaged in working through them, and an environment in which individual and firm-wide skills can continually be refined and expanded. Our firm has benefited greatly from the platform and contacts that IBLC provides, and I look forward to giving back to an organization that has delivered to us so much. As a member of the Council, I seek to deepen the ties our members share, increase both the substance and creativity with which our learning and practice opportunities occur, and help grow the IBLC into one of the world’s most powerful and influential international networks.

Hiba I. Husseini (2011-13, ) My aims as a member of the Council would be to serve current members and continue to build and expand existing networks; ensure that all members are active and enjoy the benefits of the IBLC; and expand our membership base to other jurisdictions especially the Middle East, India and Turkey.

Philip Jenkinson (2011-13, M&A Corporate Finance) The IBLC provides the possibility of high level intellectual exchange in regard to international legal issues as well as (more prosaically) stimulating interesting referrals between members. It is a first class network with which my practice has been proud to be associated for many years. Having been granted the honour and privilege of joining the Advisory Council in September 2011, I shall do my absolute best to contribute to the continued smooth running of the IBLC and strive to live up to the high standards set by those who have gone before me.
