Participating in IBLC
In order for your office and its professionals to participate in IBLC, we need to collect some personal information from you such as name, experience and expertise, contact information, etc. We use your email address as a means to contact you and as a unique identifier/username for our records.
This personal information is held by the Center for International Legal Studies (CILS), as proprietor and administrator of the IBLC. Your account resides on our system until such time as it is closed or cancelled, at the discretion of CILS, the competent IBLC organs, the member office with which you are affiliated, or on your instructions (contact email@example.com).
The IBLC may disclose professionals’ names, experience and expertise, and contact information via its website, social media and other electronic or print channels and may share this information with other IBLC members and partners in accordance with the IBLC’s business and professional development and social responsibility objectives.
Research Projects, Campaigns, etc.
IBLC may from time to time participate in research projects, campaigns, and other activities beyond its core objectives, independently or in concert with other organisations or individuals. When we invite IBLC professionals to take part in such projects, by agreeing to do so, you are also agreeing to the processing of your data for the purposes of such projects. The scope of such processing and the identities of any collaborating organisations or individuals will be indicated in each invitation.
Your consent serves as the legal basis for the processing of your personal data pursuant to Article 6 (1) (a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation). It may be withdrawn at any time. Such withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent prior to its withdrawal or CILS’ retention of a record thereof (including details of your consent and its withdrawal). The Center for International Legal Studies (CILS) will store your data until such time as you withdraw your consent. Regulation (EU) 2016/679 entitles you to request from CILS (i) access to and rectification or erasure of your personal data, and (ii) restriction or termination of its processing. Article 29 of the Regulation also ensures the portability of the data that you have provided. The Regulation also gives you the right to make a complaint with the competent data protection authority.
